William "Sam" Bass

William Roland "Sam" Bass, Jr., 82, of Paragould, passed away Saturday at NEA Baptist Hospital. He is the son of the late William and Sarah Crawford-Bass. He was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening in his free time. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy L. Fahr-Bass; brother, John Wesley Bass; and sisters, Ila Hudson and Willie Mae Dooley.

Survivors include his children, Keith Bass, of Alexander, Arkansas, Vickie (Clay) Blackwell, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Kenn Bass, of Conway, Arkansas, and Spring Bass, of Italy; grandchildren, Dierna Koone, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Rachel Prater, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Nicole Holbrook, of Houston, Arkansas, Courtney Bass, of Conway, Arkansas, Zachary Bass, of Conway, Arkansas, Blake Bass, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Maverick Davidson, of Millington, Tennessee, and Faith Davidson, of Memphis, Tenessee; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Edna Doss, of Columbus, Mississippi, Shirley Crouch-Black, of Marmaduke, Arkansas, and Esther Marie Hastings, of Gurdon, Arkansas; and wife, Rita Bass.

Visitation will be Monday night from 6:00-8:00 pm at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday at New Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Ivy and Rev. Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam King, David Hensley, Daniel Hensley, Raymond Huffman, Blake Bass, and Brad Whitaker.
