Trafton Wayne McQuay

Trafton Wayne McQuay, affectionately known as T. Wayne, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, left this world on. Wednesday, August 12,2026, at the age of 87. T.Wayne was born on July 26,1939, and was a proud resident of Lafe.

A 1957 graduate of Ceres Union High School in California, T. Wayne's journey through life was marked by a passion for hard work and an unwavering commitment to his family. On August 7, 1970, he married the love of his life, Barbara Jane Kersey Roberts, creating a partnership that would inspire those around them. Together, they raised a loving, blended family.

He is survived by his bride of 56 years, Barbara; daughters, Dawn Stoll and Merinda Gramling; and sons , Sammy and wife Tonya Roberts and Kenneth Roberts. T. Wayne is also survived by his dear brother, Ronald and his wife, Reda McQuay, and many cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

T.Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Robert McQuay and Dora Coots; his son Robert Roberts; his grandson Ethan Roberts; and his infant brothers, Gary McQuay and Virgil McQuay.

T.Wayne's career was as diverse as his interests. He worked in Mare Island shipping yard, Railroad. His talent as a welder at Keiser Steel showcased his skilled hands and creative spirit. Then he worked in oil fields and dedicated over 20 years to Mid-American Manufacturing. T.Wayne also ventured into entrepreneurship, owning Hometown Pizza and Star Video in Oak Grove, where he made lasting connections within the community.

Outside of work, T.Wayne embraced his passions. He loved everything about golf: playing ,watching, talking about, etc. He spent countless hours on the course with friends and family.

T.Wayne's warm-hearted spirit and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on through the loving memories shared by his family and friends.

Rest in peace, T.Wayne McQuay. You will forever remain in our hearts.
