Thomas McKinley

It is with both deep sorrow and a hope in the eternal that we announce the passing of Thomas Edward McKinley, who departed this life on April 29, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on May 18, 1966, in Saint Louis, Missouri, Thomas grew roots in Doniphan, Missouri, where he resided until his final days.

Thomas was a proud father to his sons, Joshua (Rhonda) McKinley and James "Jimmy" McKinley, and daughters, Robin (David) Caswell and Kendra (Tim) Williams. He cherished his role as a grandfather, leaving behind a legacy through his beloved grandchildren: Caleb, Aaron, Malachi, Benjamin, Bentley, Remmy, and Odin. He is also survived by his sisters, Ponda Wood and Brittany McKinley.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, George McKinley, step-mother, Cathy McKinley, mother, Faye Waters, and sister, Brenda Gossett.

Throughout his life, Thomas exemplified determination and dedication. A proud member of the Army Corps of Engineers, he was devoted to his work until retirement due to disability. He found true happiness in his profession, showcasing his skills as an impressive mechanic known for crafting solutions with little more than a pair of pliers and a wrench. Coworkers and family alike lauded his welding abilities and his innate talent for fabricating and repairing vehicles, a hallmark of his industrious spirit.

Thomas had a passion for reading, working on vehicles, and enjoying television and movies, which provided him with endless joy and entertainment. He will be remembered for his remarkable talent and his unwavering dedication to his work and those he loved.

Thomas McKinley will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
