It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stetson Hayes Rangel, who was born into the arms of Jesus on December 18, 2025. Stetson, a precious infant, touched the hearts of his family during his brief time with them.
Stetson showcased a spirited personality that had already begun to shine. His mother, Makiera, will forever remember her pregnancy as a time when Stetson craved sour candy and chocolate doughnuts-treats she typically avoided, but joyously relented to fulfill his desires. His tenacity was evident as he playfully hid his face during every ultrasound, prompting an additional visit just to catch a glimpse of him. Stetson's choice to kick and dance through the night brought both humor and sleeplessness to Makiera, who would fondly recall the playful nudges he gave her when she tried to rest.
Stetson Hayes Rangel is survived by his loving mother, Makiera Rangel; his Nona and Paw Paw, Erica and Ryan Rangel; Memaw, Tiffany Rone; uncles, Braxly Rangel and Caden Tyler; aunts, Lexi Hood and Makenzie Rangel; and many honorary aunts and uncles who were ready to love on him and care for him. He was preceded in death by his infant aunt, Makia Billips.
In honor of Stetson's short but impactful life, a visitation will be held at The Crossing Church on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jared Pickney officiating, celebrating the beautiful moments created in his memory. Stetson will be laid to rest at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Ryan Rangel and Caden Tyler will serve as pallbearers.
We invite all to join us in commemorating his spirit and offering support to his family during this difficult time.
