Stella Ann Gathings

Stella Gathings, 102, of Paragould, died Thursday. She was a homemaker and a Nazarine. She was born February 14, 1907 in Griffithville, Arkansas to the late Oscar and Lora Knell Dalton Nuckolls. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Benjamin Hogland; second husband, James Clinton Gathings, son, Benjamin Hogland, brothers, Guthrey and Desmond Nuckolls; sisters, Agnes Henley and Mildred Chaney. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law: Ed Gathings of Paragould and Kenneth and Joan Hogland of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter-in-law: Louise Hogland of St. Louis, Missouri; brother: Melvin Nuckolls of St. Louis, Missouri, 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday at Heath Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Sunday at Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend Tom Letchworth officiating.
