Shirley Louise Gilliam

October 14, 1937 — February 6, 2021

Shirley Louise Gilliam gained her angel wings on February 6, 2021. Shirley was an angel before she left this world, but now they are wings of gold.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Ola and Virgil Bateman; her husband, Roland Wesley Giliam; infant son, Charles Edson; brothers, Herschel, Donald, Wayne, George , Danny, and Robert Bateman; and sisters, Barbara Franklin, Peggy Huckabee, Georgia Huckabee, Janie Stanfill, and Marie Wright.

Survivors include daughters, Nancy Lamar (Greg) and Sarah Utley (Paul White); sons, Vernon Bateman (Sherry), Allen Edson (Jessie), Roland Gilliam (Melinda), and Gary Gilliam (Stacy); brother, Ronald Bateman; sister, Eithel Rippy; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and all her church family.

Visitation will be Tuesday night from 6:00-8:00 pm at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral service will be beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Marlin Ray officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship cemetery.

Family and guests are asked to practice social distancing and to wear a mask as recommended by the CDC.
