Shirley Kay Mcilvoy

Shirley Kay McIlvoy, loving mother, devoted wife, and cherished grandmother, peacefully passed away on December 18, 2023, at the age of 74. She was born in Lafe, Arkansas on July 29, 1949.

Shirley devoted her life to God and her family, and she found joy in raising her children, Cam, Mike, and Chad. Shirley was a dedicated member of Commissary Church of Christ where she spent years worshiping her Lord and Savior. She took great pride in her work as a clerk at the Arkansas Health Department, where she later retired. A woman of many passions, Shirley enjoyed fishing, nurturing her beautiful flower beds, and had a special fondness for her beloved yellow roses.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of many blissful years, Willis "Chub" McIlvoy; her sons, Chad (Misty) and Mike (Jennifer); her adoring grandchildren, Kayli (William) Toombs, Cam McIlvoy, Cash McIlvoy, Eli McIlvoy, and Shelby McIlvoy. She was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Cager Toombs. Shirley is also survived by her siblings, Mary Breckenridge, Liddie Moore, Debbie (Butch) Sims, Rick Hollis, Connie Tommy) Baxley, and Jerry (Doris) Casteel. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; Mervil Casteel and Juanita Hollis; son, Cam McIlvoy; and brother, Harold "Bud" Hollis.

Visitation for Shirley will be held at Heath Funeral Home on December 21, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service, in celebration of Shirley's remarkable life, will take place at Heath Funeral Home on December 22, 2023, at 10:00 am with Art Smith and Evan Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cam, Cash, and Eli McIlvoy, Randy "Rosy" Johnson, Terry Bailey, and Paul Nedelman.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
