Sharon Joe "Bruno" Gatlin, 84, passed from this life on November 15, 2024, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Sharon Joe was born on March 8, 1940, in Paragould, to Bill and Wilma Gatlin. Sharon Joe was a graduate of Paragould High School in 1958. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Sharon Joe was a great father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Sharon Joe enjoyed spending his time with family and friends, hunting and fishing on Lake Norfork, watching NASCAR, and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Wilma Gatlin, and his two brothers, Don and Tommy Gatlin.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patty Sue Gatlin; his children, Keith Gatlin of Mountain Home, Sherrie Gatlin Werts, Travis Gatlin, and Darryl Gatlin; daughter in-law, Joni Gatlin all of Paragould; seven grandchildren, Lindsey Hagood, Christopher Worsham, Tabitha Kinnard and husband, Jake Kinnard, Joseph "JD" Gatlin, Amber Lay and husband, Chris Lay, Emily Wise and husband, Camron Wise, Elizabeth Blue and wife, Kaitlyne Blue; fourteen great-grandchildren, Alexis Terrell, Addie Terrell, Ella Hagood, Tyson Hagood, Jagger Hagood, Katie Kinnard, Kalynn Kinnard, Easton Wise, Mason Wise, Jaycee Evans, Jordyn Evans, Gage Lay, Weston Lay, and James Lay; two sisters, Barbara Culp and Linda Tauberschmidt; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Gatlin and Lee Gatlin Wheatley.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Heath Funeral Home with David Dodd officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will follow at Finch Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Eric Wazenegger, Chris Lay, JD Gatlin, Butch Worsham, Burt Cannon, and Tyson Hagood, and honorary pallbearer is Evan Freeman.
Memorials may be made in Sharon Joe's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
