Sandra Kay Hooks Rodriguez, a beloved wife, mother, Nana, Gigi, sister, friend, and beautiful soul, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in the comfort of her home in Paragould. Born on September 1, 1956, in Paragould, Sandra led a life rich in love and dedication, cherishing her family, her faith, and her work.
A faithful member of Lake Street Baptist Church, Sandra's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and dedication to her community. She touched the hearts of many and will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and love.
Sandra spent many rewarding years as a factory worker, contributing her skills and hard work to several local businesses, including the shirt factory, Sunlight, and culminating her career at Martin Sprocket & Gear. Her strong work ethic and commitment to her job were a reflection of her character, as she approached every task with diligence and pride.
On April 13, 2001, Sandra married Ray Rodriguez, finding joy and companionship after the passing of her first husband. Together, they built a loving home filled with warmth and laughter, surrounded by family and friends.
Sandra had a passion for yard work and could often be found tending to her yard, taking pride in the beauty that surrounded her. A lover of the outdoors, she enjoyed fishing as well as the simple pleasure of shopping. Known fondly by her family as a "big hoarder," Sandra had a unique talent for collecting, savoring her treasures and memories rather than discarding them.
Sandra leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, survived by her devoted husband, Ray Rodriguez; daughter, Maria Hooks; sons, Jeffery Hooks, Tony Rodriguez, and Jamie Rodriguez; sisters, Peggy (James) Hunt, Karen Robertson, and Melinda Dillon; grandchildren: Levi Anderson, Mackenzie Anderson, Mariah Anderson, Josh Hooks, Gracie Hooks, Issac Rodriguez, and Landon Rodriguez; as well as several great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and an abundance of friends. She was a loving friend to everyon she met.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, AveLee Davis Walker and Doc Walker; late husband, Larry Don Hooks; sister, Sharon Banning; brothers, Sammie Walker, Danny Walker, Ellis Walker, and Eddie Walker; and great granddaughter, Brileigh Lashay Patrick.
A funeral service to honor Sandra's life will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Heath Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and the service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Wayne Faulkner officiating. Sandra will be laid to rest at New Friendship Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tim Walker, Travis Foulk, James (JR) Hunt, Donnie Hooks, Chris Hunt, and Donnie Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeff Hooks and Terry Walker.
