Sandra Dowdy

Sandra Sue "Sandy" Dowdy, age 62, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born on July 24, 1963, in Saint Louis, Missouri, Sandy was a devoted homemaker who embraced life with vigor and passion.

Though often affectionately referred to as "Sue Sue," a nickname she was not particularly fond of, Sandy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly through her love for country music. Raised in the Catholic faith, she transitioned to Baptist beliefs after meeting her husband, Terry, with whom she shared a deeply meaningful bond.

Sandy is survived by her three sons, Joseph (Jera), Jonathan (Karen), and James Dowdy; 12 grandchildren; her brothers, James Lalumondiere and David Crites; brother-in-law, Darrell (Kathy) Dowdy; and long-time companion, Michael Schuckman. Her spirited approach to life and her unique personality will be remembered by those who knew her.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband Terry Dowdy, father Roy Crites, and mother Mary Crites.

Family and friends will gather at Heath Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, for a visitation from 12-1 PM. A graveside funeral will begin at 1:30 PM at Beech Grove Cemetery. The family invites all who wish to honor Sandy's memory to join them in celebrating a life lived to its fullest.
