Robert Newton "Bob" Nash, age 80 resided in Paragould, Arkansas, for 32 years. Bob passed from his earthly life on May 9, 2026, at Baptist Paragould Hospital. Bob was born on July 29, 1945, to the late William and Julia Nash in Long Beach, California.
Bob was an organ donor and ended his life saving another. He proudly served in the Vietnam War as a head cook and received many medals during his service Bob was a jack of all trades from restaurant owner to a long-term over-the-road truck driver for 38 years.
Bob loved his wife, Gerri, and never stopped holding hands with her. Bob loved sharing a cup of coffee with a friend. He could often be found watching NASCAR, John Wayne, or listening to Johnny Cash. He spent countless hours tinkering in the garage, playing pool, or doing yard work. Bob also loved collecting baseball cards, knives, guns, and model cars. Bob loved showing off his '79 Ranchero and '56 Ford.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Julia Nash; two brothers, Dick Nash and Bill Nash; and one daughter, Constance VanSlyke.
Bob is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Gerri" Nash; daughter, Lisa (RD) Dodd; nephew, John Nash; grandsons, Blake (Sara) VanSlyke, Andrew (Lindsay) Ooley, Cody (Savannah) VanSlyke, Marshall (Kaley) Dodd, and Walker Dodd; granddaughter, Jacqueline (Craig) Brasher; fifteen great-grandkids: Jasper, Jarrod, Whisper, Jasmine, Jaxon, Kambri, Landon, Naveah, Madi, Lilli, Tucker, Maverick, Maci, Clara, and Logan; one great-great-granddaughter, Ruby, coming in July; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Heath Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 PM until the time of service--where friends and family will gather to celebrate Robert's life and share in their fond memories. He will be laid to rest at Old Bethel Cemetery.
Bob will be greatly missed by all.
