René Dickson

Rene' Dickson, a compassionate nurse and loving mother, passed from this life on February 22, 2024. She was born on October 12, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Ronald and Lilla Pluth. She married the love of her life, Jerry Dale Dickson, Sr., on January 5, 1974. Rene' leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will forever be cherished by her family and community.

With a degree in nursing, Rene' was passionate about caring for others which was evident in how she carried out her duties as a nurse. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to her patients touched the lives of many. Outside of work, Rene' found joy in spending time with family and friends, cooking for others, playing games, and creating lasting memories.

Rene' enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, finding solace in gardening, cooking, and knitting. She had a special liking for roses. Rene's favorite color was purple. She had a soft spot for animals, spending hours watching heartwarming videos on YouTube whenever she could. She dearly loved her chihuahua, Bella. They spent every waking hour together, and Bella traveled everywhere with Rene'. A woman of faith, Rene' was a devout Baptist who found strength and comfort in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Amber) Dickson and Brennon Dickson, grandchildren, Blake Dickson and Emily Dickson; sisters, Rhonda Richter and Sherri Crosson; brother, David Case; many nieces and nephews, and her loving chihuahua, Bella. Together, they will continue to honor her memory and carry on her legacy of love and compassion. Rene' is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 44 years, Jerry Dale Dickson, Sr.; sister, Teresa Harmon; and brother Jim Lavene.

As we come together to remember Rene' Dickson, let us hold onto the memories of her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love. She may no longer be with us, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace, knowing she made a difference in the lives of those around her.

A celebration of Rene's life will take place at Heath Funeral Home on February 26, 2024. A public viewing will begin at 5:00 pm. The funeral service, where friends and loved ones can gather to commemorate Rene's life, will be held at 7:00 pm. A private burial will take place at a later date.
