Phillip Michael Lashley, a beloved member of the Paragould community and a dedicated welder at Monroe, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2024. Born on June 30, 1956, Phil, as he was affectionately known, had a love for sports that knew no bounds. An avid basketball enthusiast, he could often be found passionately cheering on the Lakers, his favorite team.
But his love extended beyond the court, as Phil was a huge fan of NHRA, attending the US Nationals in Indianapolis an impressive 30 times. He shared this passion with his brother Perry, exploring racetracks across the country in search of the perfect race.
Phil's heart was filled with love for his family, especially his nieces and nephews. His face would light up with joy whenever he spent time with them, treasuring those moments dearly.
In his spare time, Phil enjoyed the thrill of riding motorcycles and cared for his cars with meticulous attention to detail. He would custom order his vehicles, keeping them in pristine condition and turning heads wherever he went.
Phil's impact on the lives he touched will forever be remembered. He leaves behind his brother, Perry Lashley, sister, Dana (Dinnon) Butler, nephew, Nick Lashley, niece, Ashley (John) McCoy, step-mother, Joey Lashley, great-nieces, Addie Lashley and Collins McCoy, and great-nephews, Koy McCoy and John McCoy IV.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents Dennis Lashley and Joan Miles Agee.
A man of undeniable spirit and zest for life, Phil's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A graveside service will be held at Linwood Cemetery on Tuesday, July 30, at 3:00 pm, where friends and family will come together to commemorate a life well-lived. Brother James Brown will be presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Parkinson's Foundation via their website www.parkinson.org.
Let us celebrate Phil's legacy with stories, laughter, and fond memories as we honor his journey.
