Philip Arthur Brasher

February 21, 1966 — May 9, 2021

Philip Arthur Brasher, 55, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed from this life on Sunday, May 9th, 2021, after a 3-year battle with ALS.

Philip was born February 21, 1966 in Paragould, Arkansas to the late Robert Allen Jr. and Lucille (Tritch) Brasher. He grew up in Paragould attending Greene County Tech schools, until his family moved to Texas in 1982, where he graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1984.
After returning to Paragould in 1986, Philip went to work for his uncle, Ralph Brasher, at RGB Mechanical Contractors. He first apprenticed alongside his dad, Junior, and went on to become a licensed plumber, mentoring and training many others for 33 years. He believed in the ethic of hard work and making sure the job was done right. He took pride in RGB’s many commercial contracting jobs in NE Arkansas with his last being the North End Zone addition to the ASU Football Stadium, particularly the waterfall. Philip loved his work at RGB and continued until his illness forced his retirement in 2019.

Philip was a faithful and lifelong member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he served as elder and trustee. He was an avid deerhunter and loved the outdoors. He loved watching any Razorback sports, and took pride in doing his own yardwork, jobs around their house, or for any others who needed help. During the past two years his greatest joy has been watching his granddaughter, Perry, play in his backyard.

Philip is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Marilynn (Ford) Brasher, daughter Carly (Brasher) Porter, son in law, Kirk Porter, and granddaughter, Perry Elizabeth Porter, of Paragould, Arkansas.

He is also survived by a close group of siblings; sisters Teresa (Monte) Gist, Lisa (Danny) Hoskins and brothers, Donald Brasher, Leslie (Rhonda) Brasher, Tim (Jennifer) Brasher, and Chris ( Amy) Brasher as well as many extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and former coworkers.

Pallbearers are his nephews; Kyle Jackson, Clint Gist, Jeremy Gist, Craig Brasher, Brandon Freeman, and Nathan Brasher.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Heath Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 12 at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 10:00 am with Pastor Kirk Neugebauer officiating. Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould.

The family would like to thank Alisha Seruya and Jessica Guth of St. Bernard's Hospice, Beth Bumgardner, Missy McGowan, and Julia Doss with The ALS Association of West Tennessee, Cris Mammarelli of The ALS Association of Arkansas, and Stacy Odonel with Tobii Dynavox for their care and support. Finally, the family is so appreciative for the overwhelming community support of the various fundraisers for The Brasher Brigade. We will be forever grateful for all the love and support shown by countless friends and family of which there are too many to name.
