Kay Herrod

Patricia "Kay" Herrod passed away September 21, 2026, at home in Paragould, Arkansas, surrounded by family and friends.

She was born February 27, 1946, in Paragould, to James and Juanita Bateman. She graduated from Paragould High School in 1964. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles Herrod, and they lived in Rogers and Bentonville, Arkansas, and Sikeston, Missouri, before returning to Paragould in retirement.

Kay worked at Darling Store Fixtures and in banking offices during the first half of her career, then managed the family poultry and cattle farms. She had a talent for remodeling and decorating and always made both her home and herself beautiful and well put together. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Panama City Beach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Bateman; her son, Mike Herrod; and her infant son, Charles David Herrod.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Herrod; her daughter, Natalie Herrod (Stefan Pototschnik); her grandsons, Alex, Griffin, and Charlie Pototschnik; and her five surviving siblings, Jerry Bateman (Brenda), Rick Bateman (Leann), Tim Bateman (Jill), Connie Mullikin (Dale), and Janet Hampton (Danny). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate Kay's life will be Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 1 PM at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Paragould.

Her smile and laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
