Nealie Russell Chipman, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on September 7, 2026, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the age of 67. He was born on July 7, 1959, in El Cajon, California.
Neal worked as a self-employed carpet layer and installer, dedicating his career to the construction industry. Despite his modest formal education, he approached his profession with a skill and dedication that spoke to his strong work ethic.
A man of the outdoors, Neal was passionate about fishing and hunting. He cherished the time spent on fishing trips with his friends to Mississippi and Greers Ferry, creating memories that would live on in the stories he shared. He instilled a love for nature in his children, taking them camping to explore the great outdoors. Neal lived his life as though he were from another era; he shunned modern technology, choosing instead to remain grounded in the natural world that brought him so much joy.
Neal is survived by his daughter, Crystal Chipman; his son, Ryan Chipman; his sister, Mary Chipman; and his niece, Kelly VanWinkle. They, along with many friends and relatives, will remember him for his appreciation for the simple pleasures in life.
Neal was preceded in death by his father, Howard Chipman; and mother, Dovie Arnold.
As we reflect on Neal's life, let us carry forward the lessons he taught us about the simple pleasures of life, the beauty of nature, and the importance of connecting with others. He will be missed, but his spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
