Michael Adrian Sutton, known as Mike A., left this world on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the age of 55. Born on May 20, 1970, in Oakland City, Indiana. Mike A. touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and love.
Mike A. graduated from Piggott High School in 1988 and later attended Arkansas State University. He married his dear love, Christine Gilbee. During his college years, he demonstrated a strong work ethic allowing his bride to stay home, holding various positions including a janitor at Huntington Avenue United Methodist Church, a manager at McDonald's on Caraway in Jonesboro, and a valued team member at King's Pizza. His dedication to hard work and seeking better opportunities was admirable.
A man of many passions, Mike A. was deeply committed to fitness and outdoor activities. An avid runner, he would proudly cover ten miles each day and found joy and discipline in practicing martial arts. He had a love for horseback riding, a pursuit that allowed him to connect with nature and the world around him.
Tragedy struck in 1992 when he was in an accident that claimed the lives of his beloved wife and son. This heartbreaking event led to significant changes in his life as he endured the challenges of life following the accident. However, he persisted with courage and found solace in traveling across the United States with his parents, their adventures marked by shared memories and a love for exploration. Mike A. cherished every opportunity to embrace life, often gathering delightful souvenirs of his travels, particularly a healthy obsession with moose - whether in the form of plush toys, apparel, or unique trinkets.
Mike A. is survived by his devoted parents, Rev. Michael and Georgianna Sutton; brothers, David (Bonnie) Sutton of Conway and Philip (Sheri) Sutton of Paragould; cherished nieces and nephews, John Sutton, Mollie Sutton, Haley (Devon) Denham, and Joshua Sutton and fiance, Madison Jones; and great niece, Mariah Denham. Moreover, he is survived by his precious grandchildren, Shiloh, Jonathan, and Serenity. Mike A. was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Christine Sutton; son, Christopher Michael Sutton; and daughter, Kia Marie Doggett.
A visitation will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 5-7 PM. The family invites all those whose lives were touched by Mike A. to join them in celebrating his memory.
