Melissa Dawn Meeker

Melissa Dawn Meeker, 35, formerly of Paragould departed this life Thursday, July 31 in Nashville, TN. She was born November 22 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Terry and Teresa Wood. She was an English teacher at Southland High School in Cardwell. She is survived by her husband, Mike, and children, Meredith and Max, of the home; her parents, Terry Wood of Jonesboro and Teresa Wood of Paragould; grandparents, Elsie Wood of Paragould and Ralph and Juanita Loftin of Cardwell; and sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Randy Hughes of Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Wood, and her mother-in-law, Sandra Meeker. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 3, at 2:00 pm at East Side Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Morrow Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 pm Saturday, August 2, at Heath Funeral Home.
