Mattie's faith played a central role in her life; her Pentecostal beliefs were a guiding light. She found great joy in attending her home church, New Life Christian Center in Rector, where she relished in the passionate sermons and uplifting music. Mattie dedicated much of her life to nurturing others as a nurse, serving with compassion and care in various nursing homes throughout her career. She took pride in her vocation and made a profound impact on the lives of those she cared for. After her retirement, she enjoyed the tranquility of quiet times at home, where she continued to spread warmth through her beloved pastime of knitting, crafting beautiful blankets for her grandchildren.
