Mary Sue Winn, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, left this world on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the age of 77. Sue was born on July 8, 1949, in Saint Louis, Missouri, and later graduated from Caruthers High School in California, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with joy, family, and creativity.
Sue married her dearest love, Elmer, on April 30, 1970, and together they built a wonderful family. She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Nikki) Winn of Bay, David (Jamie) Winn of Lafe, Johnny Winn of Oak Grove, and Brandon (Amy) Winn of Gainesville; grandchildren, Tori (Cody) Prichard, Magan Winn, Chance (Peyton) Williams, Shawn Winn, Xavier Winn, and Phoebe Winn; and great grandchildren, Noah, Eliza, Lainey, and Bronson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo South and Pauline Russell; husband, Elmer Daniel Winn; and grandson, Lane Cordell Winn.
Her unwavering dedication to her work was evident in her nearly 20-year tenure as Food Services Manager for the Paragould School District, where she nourished both bodies and souls. An artistic spirit, Sue cherished time spent quilting, cross-stitching, crafting, and painting, brightening the lives of those around her with her talents. She had a passion for classic old westerns, which always provided her with warmth and nostalgia, and she also loved watching her favorite show, CSI.
A devoted Baptist, Sue had previously attended Brown's Chapel Baptist Church, where her faith guided her through life's many twists and turns.
In celebration of her life, a visitation will be held at Brown's Chapel Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Brown's Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Arkansas Children's Hospital or the American Heart Association, honoring Sue's generous spirit.
Sue will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her immense love for her family, her artistic flair, and her joyful spirit. May her legacy of creativity and compassion live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
