It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Ellen Swift, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on March 18, 2026. Born on July 1, 1952, in Mishawaka, Indiana, Mary spent her life bringing joy and warmth to those around her.

Mary was a devoted homemaker, dedicating herself to her family and their needs, always creating a nurturing environment filled with love. She married her soulmate, John Swift, on December 31, 1970, and together they built a beautiful life that was enriched by their shared love of travel during their early years.

A woman of strong faith, Mary was an active member of Life Paragould Church, where she found joy in serving the Lord and connecting with her community. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, a craft that allowed her to create items filled with her love and care.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James and Daisy McSpadden, and brother, Andy McSpadden.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, John Swift; her cherished daughter, Tina (James) Anderson; her son, John David Swift; her brother, Bobby Joe McSpadden; her grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer) Swift, Matthew (Damianna) Swift, Mahaleigh Anderson, James Dacus, Alex (Leo Peterson) Bise, Nathaniel Moye, Kevin Travis Dingman, II, Jackson Tiffany, and Aaryonna Tiffany; bonus grandchildren, Amanda E. and Piper, Tiffany, and Gabrielle C.; great-grandchildren, Eli Bise and Raelynn Fullbright. She also leaves behind sister-in-law, Hannah Raber, brother-in-law, Rex Swift, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Each of them will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Mary's life will be honored with a funeral service at Life Church in Paragould. We invite all those who knew and loved her to join us in celebrating her life and legacy. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service, celebrating her life and legacy, will take place at 2:00 PM with Pastor James Warbington officiating. Following the service, Mary will be laid to rest at Linwood Cemetery.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in knowing that Mary's spirit will live on in the love she shared and the faith she inspired in others. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to those that took such exceptional care of Mary including the staff at Phil Jones Hospice House and special caretaker, Danielle Luthe.
