Mary Clariessa Harris

Mary Clariessa Harris, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on July 3, 1936, in Light, Arkansas, Mary dedicated 29 years of her life to her career at Emerson Electric, where she was respected and well-liked by her colleagues.

Mary was a devoted member of Lake Street Baptist Church, where she found community and connection with her faith. She cherished her family above all, often expressing her deep love for her children, son, Kent (Chrissi) Harris, and daughter, Karen Bateman. Her legacy is carried on by her  grandchildren, Brad (Tiffany) Harris, Cristy (Ricky) Harris, Michael (Sara) Harris, and  Mary (Cameron) Shoemake; her great grandchildren, Bryson (Zoie) Harris, Brooklyn (Brian Lane) Harris, Carter Harris, Conner Miller, and Blake Harris; and her beloved great-great grandchildren, Bryler Lane, Brooks Lane, and Kamryn Harris.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Harris; her parents, Ernest and Mary Stringer; brothers, George Stringer and Talmadge Stringer; and sister, Joleda Jackson.

Mary was also known for her affection for her cats, often finding comfort and companionship in their presence. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit.

A visitation will be on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Heath Funeral Home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather in celebration of Mary's life. Rev. Wayne Faulkner will be officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Michael Harris, Brad Harris, Bryson Harris, Jimmie Pillow, Jake Pillow, and Ronnie Smith.

As we reflect on Mary's life, we are grateful for the love and light she brought into our lives and the memories we will cherish forever. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
