Mary Alice Garner, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on January 14, 1944, in Paragould, Mary lived her life with grace, resilience, and a deep commitment to her family and community.

Mary devoted over 15 years of her life serving as a custodian and healthcare assistant at Sunshine Manor, where her caring demeanor and strong work ethic touched the lives of countless residents and staff. Prior to her time in healthcare, she began her career in manufacturing, a testament to her dedication and adaptability.

A warm and nurturing mother, Mary is survived by her three children, David Anderson, Linda Bushee, and Deborah Jackson; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear sister, Sue Tucker, and brother, Don Steele. Her loving husband, Bill Anderson, whom she married at a young age, predeceased her in 1969. Together, they cherished their time as a family until his untimely passing, and Mary carried the love and memory of Bill with her always. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Steel; brothers, Ed, Ervin, and Ansel Steele; and sons-in-law, Dustin Bushee and Everett Jackson.

In her leisure time, Mary found solace in the pages of books, with a particular fondness for the thrill of Stephen King's novels. Her passion for reading was a cherished escape that she often shared with those around her.

A devoted member of the Baptist faith, Mary's life was guided by her principles of kindness and generosity. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal services planned. Instead, Mary will be interred alongside her beloved husband at Brown's Chapel Cemetery, where their love story will continue to resonate.

In honoring her legacy, we remember Mary Alice Garner as a loving mother, a dedicated worker, and a remarkable woman who enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will forever be cherished in our hearts.

At this time, we invite family and friends to reflect on Mary's wonderful life, her unwavering love for her family, and the joys she shared with each of us.
