Mary Gardner

Mary Francis Gardner, age 80, of Morganfield, Kentucky, passed away on June 1, 2025. Born on December 24, 1944, in Auburn, Illinois, Mary dedicated her life to her family, serving as a loving homemaker. She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Jack Gardner, son Eric (Stacey) Gardner, and cherished grandchildren: Allyson, Brandon, and Katie Gardner; step grandchildren, William Gawlas, Cecilia Packard Farris, and Justin Cochran. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Clair Donnelly and Shirl (Jerry) Kersey, and her brothers, Bill, Ed (Linda), and Bob (Kara) Shreeves. Mary leaves behind numerous cousins, including Jim McDonald, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Vernie Shreeves; grandparents, Pink and Adleen Taylor; sisters Goldie Bell and Midge Goad; and brothers Art Shreeves, Leroy Shreeves, Fred Shreeves, and Rick Shreeves.

Mary was known for her warm and friendly personality; she never met a stranger. Her love for family gatherings was her life, and she especially loved to spend time with her son and his wife, her grandchildren, her siblings and their families. She shared her creative spirit through her talent for making jewelry and often enjoyed rummaging adventures and sister trips. A steadfast woman, Mary was never afraid to stand her ground while balancing her kindness and open heart.

Faith was a cornerstone of Mary's life. She attended Grace Fellowship Church in Morganfield, Kentucky, where her spiritual commitment thrived.

The family will host a visitation at Heath Funeral Home on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at Heath Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Mary Francis Gardner will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will forever remain in our hearts.
