Marvin Anthony Williams, 64, of Jonesboro, went home to be with the Lord and Savior Thursday May 27, 2021, after a long illness. He was born October 14, 1956 in Paragould to Bob and Doris (Schwamb) Williams. He is a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
Marvin was raised in Paragould where he began his strict work ethics at six years old delivering newspapers. He was a driver for Emerson and moved to Jonesboro in 1986. He was a dispatcher and part time driver at MDR Cartage for twenty years. Marvin had an amazing memory; it didn't matter if they had fifty or one hundred and fifty trucks. He could tell you where each truck was, who was in it and their destination. He was great at his job. In 2004 he became a dispatcher for his buddy and longtime best friend Chuck Mitchell at MC Express, LLC. Marvin has a heart of gold and so compassionate to others and made many awesome friends. He said that he never knew what love was until he held his son Blake. His family is so important to him and that family and love continues to grow.
Surviving is his wife of twenty-five years Darlene (Ballard) Williams; sons Blake and Tiffany Williams and Aaron and Stacy Hargrove all of Paragould; brothers, Dr. Dwight and Judy Williams of Paragould and Calvin and Barbara Williams of Washington state; sisters Marsha Chunn of Paragould and Kay and Mike Roemmich of Tennessee; grandsons Cooper Williams of Paragould, Preston and Anna Hargrove and Caleb and MacKenzee Hargrove all of Jonesboro and Brody Hargrove of Paragould; great grandchildren Mack Hargrove, Hudson Hargrove and Carter Hargrove all of Jonesboro; a special brother Neal McDonald of Harrisburg, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Wallace Williams of Brookland, Arkansas; niece Shaela Williams of Paragould; brother-in-law David Chunn of Paragould; wife Martha Williams.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Heath Colonial Chapel in Paragould, Arkansas with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cooper Williams, Blake Williams, Aaron Hargrove, Preston Hargrove, Caleb Hargrove and Brody Hargrove.
