Marty Maurizi

Martin "Marty" Eugene Maurizi, a generous spirit, family man, and friend, was called home by God on May 29th, 2026, at 67. Son of Elio and Barbara (Bacigalupo) Maurizi, Marty was born November 9, 1958, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Judy Potter-Maurizi was not just his wife, travel companion, and motorcycle-riding buddy, but his best friend for 35 years.

Marty undoubtedly loved being a dad to Jennifer and Daniel Potter, Amber and Jon Warren, Ken Harris and Monica Hansen, and Brent and Paige Maurizi.

Although he enjoyed golfing, hunting, and riding his Harley, what he loved more was being "Pa" to his grandchildren Erin, Garrett (Allison), Emery, Gracie, Memphis ("Lil E"), Olivia, and Dutton, and a great-PA to Atticus and Chandler.

He was a proud brother of Debra Maurizi, Raymond and Cindy Maurizi, Emidio Maurizi, Johnny and Laura Maurizi, and Maria (Maurizi) and Ricky Cargile. And he considered Chuck Ellis his "brother from another mother." Marty had several nieces and nephews, of which each one was his favorite.

Waiting to welcome him home was his brother-in-law Steve Potter, his loving parents and in-laws, and niece Charlie and nephew Austin.

Marty's spirit was one of selfless giving and generosity not just in life but in death. Upon his passing, he donated his organs and his body to the Genesis Project. Marty had countless friends, and he would be pleased to have them as honorary pallbearers.

Marty's life will be celebrated on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Heath Funeral Home. The memorial service will begin at 11 AM with a visitation following until 1 PM.
