Mark Vernon Osswald was born on February 20, 1953, in Dayton, Ohio. He departed from this world on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and community spirit. He was 73 years old.
Mark was a dedicated entrepreneur and the proud owner of a salvage company, where he diligently found value in things that others had cast aside. His tireless work ethic was matched only by his generous heart; he was known throughout the community as someone who would go out of his way to help anyone in need. Mark's unwavering commitment to lifting others up made him a cherished figure among those who knew him.
He is survived by his twin brother, David Osswald, and his step-sister, Margaret Green. Mark's spirit will live on in the memories shared by his family and all those he touched throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Webster Osswald and Catherine Coffman Osswald.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Walcott. Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring Mark's life and celebrating the impact he made on so many.
In remembrance of Mark, let us carry forward his legacy of kindness, generosity, and the belief that every discarded item has the potential to be repurposed for good-much like the lives he transformed. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
