Marion Wineland

May 22, 1931 — May 18, 2025

Marion Hampton Wineland, a beloved father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, just days shy of his 94th birthday. Born on May 22, 1931, in Schugtown, Arkansas, Marion spent his life embodying the values of hard work, family, and a love for the outdoors.

Marion dedicated many years of his career as a Plant Superintendent at Martin Sprocket & Gear, where his commitment and leadership inspired many. Prior to that, he also worked at Foremost Dairy, contributing to the community and exemplifying a tireless work ethic that will be remembered by all who knew him.

A true outdoorsman, Marion had a passion for fishing and woodworking. He cherished his time spent duck hunting and created lasting memories skiing at Reynolds, Norfork, and Greers Ferry Lake. He had a need for speed and found joy in drag racing with his two cars, thrilling friends and family alike with his adventurous spirit.

His legacy lives on through his children, Rick (Debbie) Wineland and Keith (Meredith) Wineland, who carry forth his values. Marion found great joy in being a grandfather to grandchildren, Jilayna Hammon, Derrin Wineland, Hayley Goodson, Cole Wineland, Cody Wineland, and Jorge Couto; great-grandchildren, June Wineland, Jett Wineland, Rynn Wineland, Audrey Couto, Lexi Couto, Gigi Couto, Jordan Wineland, Judah Hammon, Kim Wineland, Destrie Wineland, and Lane Wineland; and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Art Wineland and Raymond Wineland, and sisters, Faye Bryant and Diane Rodgers, who will miss him dearly.

Marion was preceded in death by his loving spouse of 60 years, Ruth Wineland; parents, Arthur and Hassie Wineland; and siblings, Otis Wineland, Floyd Wineland, Ruby House, Charles Wineland, Dennis Wineland, and Patricia Wineland.

To honor Marion's life and legacy, visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at Heath Funeral Home at 5:00 PM with Pastor Cody Gray officiating. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to gather and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who dedicated himself to his work, his family, and his passions.

Marion Wineland will be remembered fondly for his warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit. May he rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will resonate for generations to come.
