Marcus Leon Smith

Marcus Leon Smith, 66, of Paragould, died Tuesday at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born September 9, 1942 the son of Marcus and Ruby Alline Willard Smith. He was a member of the Army National Guard and a retired Quality Control supervisor from Emerson Electric Mfg. after 44 years of service. He was of Pentecost belief. Marcus was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Loretta Smith; and one son, Gale Smith. Survivors include one son, Dale Smith; brothers, Ricky Don Smith and Tommy Smith; sisters, Kathryn Trayler , Jo-Ann Messer and Carolyn Cole all of Paragould; one grandson, Dale Lee Smith, Jr. of Corning; granddaughters, Illa Jenkins of Rector and Stephenie Morrison of Paragould; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at the Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend Scott Trayler officiating. Burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30-9:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Alton Keeling, Dennis Rogers, Verlon Jenkins, Joey Trayler, Dewayne Messer and David Smith. Honorary Pallbearers, Dennis Davis and Anthony Trayler.
