Linda Sue Arnold

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Sue Arnold, who left this world on September 11, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on December 10, 1936, in Beech Grove, Arkansas, Linda was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, J.W. Arnold, and her loving parents, Edith and Jimmie Eubanks.

Linda is survived by her treasured daughter, Dr. Angela Howell, and her husband, Norman Wright. She took immense pride in her grandsons, Justin (Amanda) Howell, and Dylan (Hallie) Howell, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Silas, Jack, Violet, and Piper Howell. Linda also leaves behind her dear sisters, Jane (Dale) Allison, and Dianne (Larry) Watson, along with many nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins whom she counted dearly.

Linda dedicated many of her working years to educating young minds as a first-grade teacher at Oak Grove Elementary School, where she fostered a love of learning that spanned from the days of Dick and Jane to the digital age. An active member of the Seventh and Mueller Church of Christ, she found joy and community in her faith. As a proud graduate of Paragould High School, Class of 1954, Linda continued her education at Freed-Hardeman College and earned her degree from Arkansas State University, culminating in her master's degree.

Linda cherished moments spent following the St. Louis Cardinals, crocheting, decorating cakes, and nurturing her beautiful rose garden. However, her greatest joy came from the holidays spent with family, creating lasting memories that will be held close to their hearts. In her later retirement years, she remained active with the Greene County Retired Teachers Association and was a vibrant member of Alpha Gamma Kappa and Silver Sneakers.

As a family, we are grateful for the compassionate care extended to Linda during her battle with diabetes and dementia, especially from her time spent at Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould and at Southridge Village in Heber Springs.

A celebration of Linda's life will take place on Monday, September 14, 2026. visitation will begin at 10 Am at Heath Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, and she will be laid to rest at Greene County Memorial Gardens,

In honor of Linda's passion for education and her deep love for Greene County, memorial contributions may be made to the Greene County Library, Children's Homes, Greene County Museum, Crowley's Ridge Academy, or Crowley's Ridge College.

Linda's legacy of love, education, and family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
