Lawrence "Larry" David Watkins, 80, of Paragould, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was the son of the late Doyle and Clyda Lawrence Watkins. Larry is also preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley Watkins and Jack Watkins; and grandson, Jason Bolton. He was a member of Lake Street Baptist Church. He served in the United States Air Force, Military Police K-9 Unit. He continued to serve his country as a U.S. Postal Carrier, retiring after many years of service.
After marrying the love of his life, Ginger, on September 5, 1981, he gained 2 children, she gained 4 children, and they added 1 to the numbers.
His love of the Lord Jesus Christ paved the way for him to be a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a family man, always putting his family first continuing his example of love and service to all.
He loved traveling with his wife; He is now traveling with the Lord Jesus Christ.
He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife, Ginger Watkins, of the home; children, Kim Wineland, of Park Hills, Missouri, Debbie and Jerry Cross, of Paragould, Rickey Watkins, of Paragould, Pam Watkins, of Park Hills, Missouri, Stephanie McConnell, of Mesa, Arizona, Jenny Dean-Jordan and Mark Jordan, of Bentonville, and Joshua Watkins, of Paragould; grandchildren, Amy Cerda, Timmy Wineland, Chris Cross, Logan Watkins, Steven Watkins, Mikayla Watkins, Felicia Quinn, Michael Quinn, Matt Jordan, Dirkston Dean, Jett Jordan, Tristen Watkins, Noah Watkins, and Trevor Watkins; eight great grandchildren; sister, Millie Willbrand; and brothers, Wally Watkins and Richard Watkins.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday beginning at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Jody Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Joey Hicks, Spencer Robbins, Mike Berry, Justin Deweese, Timmy Wineland, and Luis Cerda. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the local Veterans Support Association of Paragould, Arkansas.
