Kenny Joe Orick, departed this world on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the age of 69. Born in Lafe on December 22, 1956, Kenny lived a life marked by hard work, love for family, and a deep connection to the earth.

Kenny graduated from Delaplaine High School in 1976, and he took pride in contributing to his family's farming legacy until he was called to serve his country in the United States Air Force. His service was a testament to his character, embodying honor and dedication.

A beloved member of his community, Kenny was known not only for his industrious spirit but also for his passion for gardening and planting flowers. His yard was a vibrant display of nature's beauty, adorned with numerous planters overflowing with colorful blooms. He found joy in the gentle sounds of wind chimes dancing in the breeze, which added a musical quality to his cherished outdoor sanctuary.

Kenny was baptized as a young boy. In his later years, he regularly attended Warren's Chapel Church. His spiritual foundation shaped his life and influenced those around him, leaving an enduring legacy of kindness and compassion.

Kenny is survived by his loving sisters, Emma Shipman, Katey Tucker, Bonnie (Billy) Austin, and Sadie Carter; brother, Darrell (Kerry) Orick; dear sisters-in-law, Taun (Jimmy) Smith and Ann Crews; nephews and nieces, David Shipman, Lou Shipman Gregery, Jeff Orick, Jonatha Brasher, Jay Orick, Taunya Sisco, Kelly McCain, Justin Austin, Clifton Orick, Kevin Orick, Jameson Carter, Zack Orick, and Landon Orick; and many great nephews and nieces and great-great nephews and nieces.

Kenny is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Maxine Orick; brothers, Ray, Louis, and Riley Orick; brothers-in-law, James Shipman and Brian Tucker; nephew, Aaron Carter; and niece, Charlotte Jackson.

In honor of Kenny's life and legacy, a funeral service will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Thursday, February 26, 2026. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 AM. The memorial service will commence at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Smith officiating.

Kenny Joe Orick will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and passions but also for the warmth he brought to everyone around him. May his spirit continue to inspire love, joy, and connection in the hearts of all who knew him.
