Kenneth "Butch" Overshine, beloved husband, father, Papaw, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He lived a life defined by service, devotion, and a deep love for those around him.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 21 years, working as a maintenance crew member for fighter aircraft. His time in the Air Force was something he carried with great pride, dedicating those years to ensuring the safety and readiness of the pilots and planes he worked alongside.
Outside of his service, he found his greatest happiness in the outdoors and with his family. He loved hunting and fishing, but his favorite days were spent loading up his wife and grandchildren, heading to the river, and searching for the best catfish hole he could find. Those days often turned into long afternoons on the water filled with laughter, stories, and memories that his family will cherish forever. True to his loving nature, he always made sure his wife caught the biggest fish or the most.
He was the most loving man anyone could ask for. When he loved someone, he made sure they knew it. He loved deeply and intentionally, always putting the people he cared about first. His greatest joy in life were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He made sure they were always taken care of and had everything they needed, and there was nothing that made him prouder than being their Papaw.
He was a devoted husband for 58 years to the love of his life, Patsy Overshine. Their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment and love. He loved his wife with everything in him and made sure she knew it every single day.
He is preceded in death by his mother and mother-in-law, Kathleen Overshine and Faye White; his sisters, Eddie Faye Bidford and Connie Polk; his nephews, James Clark, Billy Skimahorn, Freddy Lynn White, Greg White, & Randy Price; and his nieces, Theresa Sisco & Romona Metz.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Patsy Overshine; his children, Kent Overshine (Angie), Kendall Overshine, and Shelly Rosten (Craig); his grandchildren, Kenzie McMinn (Noah), Noah Overshine (MaCayla), Jordan McMinn (Levi), Devin Carmichael (Brayden), Bailey Overshine, Joshua Condray (Anastasia), Karsen Overshine, Keagan Overshine, Briar Price, and Ryker Rosten; his great-grandchildren, Stratton McMinn and Lennox McMinn. & his sister, Judy Clark (Larry) He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends who will all miss him dearly.
His legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on through the many lives he touched. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, a proud father, and the very best papaw.
