Judy Ann Jett

Judy Ann Jett, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, departed this world on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on April 8, 1944, in Fisk, Missouri, Judy lived a life characterized by love, creativity, and compassion.

Judy graduated from Fisk High School in 1962 and later married her true love, Jerry Jett, on June 4, 1966. Together, they built a life filled with joy and warmth settling in Paragould, where Judy became not just a cherished partner to Jerry but a steadfast support to their family.

In the early 1980s, Judy discovered her passion for sewing, which initially began as a hobby. Her talent quickly flourished into a revered profession, as word spread throughout town of her exceptional abilities. For several decades, she was the go-to seamstress for wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, prom attire, and clothing repairs. Judy famously crafted her daughter's first wedding and bridesmaid dresses, leaving an indelible mark on those special family moments.

Beyond her seamstress skills, Judy had a green thumb and loved to garden. The fruits of her labor found their way into her kitchen, where she delighted in cooking and canning with the produce she had nurtured. Her warmth extended further into the lives of her grandchildren, to whom she devoted endless love and affection. The joy of being a grandmother brought her a new kind of bliss, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.

Judy leaves behind her loving husband, Jerry Jett; her daughter, Terri (Jeff) Heiby of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; her son, Michael (Kristi) Jett of Kennett; as well as her treasured grandchildren, Derek (Heather) Thompson of Scott, Ashley (Tanner) Piggott of Iberia, Missouri, and Ainsley Jett of Kennett. She will also be fondly remembered by her great-granddaughters, Margot Thompson, Lucy Thompson, Ivy Piggott, and Ember Piggott, as well as a great-granddaughter soon to be born. Additionally, Judy is survived by her siblings, Jim Colter of Poplar Bluff, Wilma Clark of Poplar Bluff, Marilyn Seely of Shreveport, Louisiana, Shirley (Ron) Moore of Cape Girardeau, and Glenda Evans of Poplar Bluff.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, James "Bud" and Grace Remmenga Colter; brothers, Jack and Leroy Colter; infant brother, Kenneth Dale Colter; and son-in-law, Fred Thompson.

A visitation will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. A funeral service in celebration of Judy's life will take place at 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Linwood Cemetery.

Judy Ann Jett will be profoundly missed. Her spirit of creativity, her nurturing heart, and the love she shared with all will remain forever etched in our memories.
