Josita Reed

June 25, 1955 — July 21, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Josita JoAnn Reed, a beloved member of our community, who entered into eternal rest on July 21, 2025, at the age of 70. Josita was born on June 25, 1955, in Paragould, Arkansas, where she spent the entirety of her life cherishing family, friends, and the beautiful surroundings of her hometown.

Josita was a devoted wife to Ervin Reed and a loving mother to her children, Aaron (Julie) Forkum and Karla (Jeff) Gladish. She took immense pride in being a grandmother as well, delighting in the company of her grandchildren, Hunter, Ethan, A.J., and Cash Forkum, along with her great-grandchild, Hayden Gladish. Josita is also survived by her brothers Wesley (Mary Ann), Jimmy (Peggy), Lonnie (Linda), Eddie, and Berneal Laws, and her sisters Judy Laws and Glenda (Dick) Wallace, as well as her sister Tracey Pitcher. She cherished the bonds of family, and her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

Josita was preceded in death by her father, Leon Laws; mother, Lana Dixon; granddaughter, Caleigh Forkum; and step-daughter, Marylyn Evans.

Josita engaged fully with life, enjoying activities that brought her joy and fulfillment. She was an enthusiastic shopper, an avid crocheter, and a lover of the great outdoors, often spending time at the lake. Josita was a faithful member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Paragould, where she found community and fellowship.

The family will host a visitation for friends and family on Thursday, July 24, 2025, beginning at 5:00 PM at Heath Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring Josita's life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Heath Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Old Bethel Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital and Le Bonheur, two organizations that reflect Josita's compassion and commitment to the well-being of children.

Josita JoAnn Reed will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her kindness, love for family, and unwavering faith.
