John Robert "JJ" Melson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Robert "JJ" Melson, age 32, who departed this life on May 5, 2026, in Paragould, Arkansas. Born on August 1, 1993, in Honolulu, Hawaii, John was a cherished son, brother, and father whose warmth and spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.

John was known for his infectious laughter and love of life. He had an innate ability to find joy in every moment, finding delight in dancing and sharing jokes with family and friends. He was a dedicated floater at JMC in the metal shop, known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his craft. John cherished the time spent helping his future father-in-law in the shop, where his passion for cars flourished.

Above all, John was a deeply family-oriented man. His love for his children, especially as he anticipated the arrival of his son Kalani, who he was expecting with his beloved fiancee Ashley Reeves, was a source of immense joy. He is survived by his beloved sons, Jokkob and Kalani Melson; his brothers, Herbill, Houston, Carl, and his twin brother Luke Melson; his sisters, Mitchiko Melson and Jauje Labuon; and a robust extended family that includes 25 nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him profoundly.
John's zest for life extended to his love for baseball, where he enjoyed playing and supporting his favorite teams. He had a special knack for facetime calls, always eager to connect with family and share stories, laughter, and love, regardless of distance.

John was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Melson; mother, Clomy Melson; and son, Kaleo Melson.

Funeral services and ceremonies to honor John's life will be held at Heath Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at noon on Friday, June 5, 2026, and conclude on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1 PM. A service will begin at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery. His family and friends will gather to celebrate the beautiful impact he had on their lives, sharing memories and stories that reflect the joy he brought to the world.

John Melson will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, and deep devotion to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
