Jimmy Traywick

December 7, 1959 — April 23, 2025

Jimmy Lee Traywick, of Paragould, departed this life on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on December 7, 1959, in Mesa, Arizona, Jimmy later moved to Paragould, where he established a life filled with laughter, family, and a passion for all things mechanical.

Jimmy (known as "Cowboy" to those closest to him) was a proud graduate of Lafe High School who spent his earlier years working at Lakeside Metal. Known for his exceptional skills in repairing and restoring mechanical items, he had a particular affinity for lawn mowers, cars, and weedeaters. His resourcefulness and hands-on expertise were matched only by his unique sense of humor. He often delighted in quipping, "I'm just sitting here looking stupid," whenever asked what he was up to.

A passionate collector, Jimmy cherished his vast collection of records and 8-track tapes, creating a soundtrack for cherished memories with family and friends. His love for family was evident in every gathering, especially during fish fries where laughter and stories filled the air. He enjoyed evenings watching reruns of classic shows like "Sanford and Son" and "The Andy Griffith Show," fondly playing their recognizable theme songs.

Jimmy was also an avid outdoor enthusiast, finding joy in fishing, rock hunting, and searching for arrowheads. His weekends were often spent as a bargain hunter, always on the lookout for hidden treasures.

Jimmy leaves behind his loving daughters, Misty (Robert) Wilder and Jasmine Ward; brothers Bobby, John, Eddie, and Dewayne Traywick; sister Kathy Zorn; and grandchildren Aaliyah, Isaiah, Faith, Brooklyn, Mikaylah, and one soon to be. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife Diane Traywick; father Edward Traywick; mother Hazel Stricklin; and brother Charles Traywick.

Friends and family are invited to share their remembrances of Jimmy at a public visitation on Wednesday, April 30, at 6:00 PM, at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, May 1, 2025, also at Heath Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
