Jimmy Ray Lashley, 81, of Paragould, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 27, 1944, Jim lived a life marked by hard work, strong faith, and deep devotion to those he loved.
A dedicated employee of the Arkansas Highway Department, Jim proudly served his community for 30 years. His strong work ethic and quiet dependability earned him the respect of his coworkers and neighbors alike.
Jim's heart belonged to God, his family, and the joy he found in life's simplest pleasures. He loved a good conversation and never met a stranger; he could chat for hours with friends old and new, usually with a grin and a story ready. He appreciated a Branson trip, porch sits, and a perfectly fried piece of fish at a family fish fry.
A skilled woodworker, Jim found joy in his craft, creating pieces that will continue to tell his story for generations to come. He loved spending time in his shop, building things with his hands, and making the people around him feel cared for in quiet, lasting ways.
Above all, Jim cherished his family. He was a proud father to two daughters, Beverly (Danny) Yarbrough and Lana (Joey) Massey; a loving grandfather to Taren (Matthew) Massey-Swindle, Kyle Yarbrough, Heath Yarbrough, and Allie (Corey) Haughey; a doting great-grandfather to Avery and Stella Haughey; and a caring brother to Sherry Lashley and Janie Selby. To his grandchildren, he was lovingly known as "Bop." His happiest moments were spent surrounded by them-sharing stories, love, laughter. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Eula Lashley; wife, Linda Belk Lashley; and brothers, Dennis Lashley and Bill Lashley.
Jim's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. A visitation will be from 1-2 PM at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 2 PM. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Brian Massey, Brad Massey, Del Massey, Butch Cooper, Tim Myrick, and Mark Bunch. In memory of Jim, please send memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House, or Upendo Kids, Inc.
Jim's warmth, wisdom, and steady love will be missed deeply by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
