Jerry Sherman Whiteside

Jerry Sherman Whiteside, 40, of Augusta, Arkansas, left this world on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Born on September 10, 1985, in Danville, Indiana, Jerry was a beloved son, husband, brother, and friend whose spirit touched the lives of everyone he met.

Jerry graduated from Paragould High School in 2004 and went on to dedicate over 20 years to the noble profession of firefighting. He most recently served with pride at the Brighton Fire Department in Brighton, Tennessee, where he was known not only for his bravery but also for his infectious spirit and kindness.

Beyond the firehouse, Jerry had a passion for tattoo artistry, skillfully showcasing his talents from the comfort of his home through his page, "First Due Tattoos." His artistic expression was a reflection of his personality, vibrant and full of life. He also enjoyed woodworking, creating beautiful pieces that brought warmth to his home and joy to his family.

Jerry loved nothing more than to tease and make memories with his kids, siblings, nephews, and nieces. His laughter and light-hearted nature will be missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberly Whiteside; children, Johnathon, Taylor, Hayden, Gregory, and Brodie; parents, Cheryl and Ed Monette; grandparents, Jerry and Katrina Whiteside, Patricia Rader, and Kathy Monette; sisters, Christy and Callie; brother, Cody; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Jerry is preceded in death by his brother, James Hines; grandfathers, Phil Rader and Edward Monette; and grandmother, Judy Chaney.

Family and friends will gather to honor Jerry's memory and celebrate his life during a funeral service at Heath Funeral Home on Monday, August 10, 2026. A public visitation will be from 4-6 PM, followed by a service at 6 PM. Jerry will be remembered fondly, and his life will be celebrated with love and laughter, just as he would have wanted.

As we reflect on Jerry's remarkable life, we are reminded of his courage, creativity, and the way he brought us together. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
