Jasper Lee Poindexter

Jasper Lee Poindexter, 72 of Paragould, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. He was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Navy, as a member of the Hal-3 Sea Wolves during the Vietnam War. Jasper enjoyed daily breakfast with his friends, weekly dinners with his siblings, and engaging in the lives of his sons. Jasper loved the challenge of learning new things and the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle.

He had a remarkable talent for all things mechanical. He particularly enjoyed building and repairing motorcycles. Jasper was extremely proud of the brotherhood he shared with the Navy Sea Wolves, attending reunions annually.

Jasper was preceded in death by his parents, Estes and June Poindexter, his sister and brother in-law, Sandra Boyer (Pete).
He is survived by his siblings, Brenda Anderson, Jean Jones (Larry), Fred Poindexter, as well as his sons Shane and Christopher, and their families. He also leaves behind his dear friends and his beloved cat Sheba.

The family will host a visitation at the Paragould Community Center, Room D on Monday, April 4, from 9 – 11 AM, followed by an interment ceremony at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Mission Outreach of Northeast Arkansas in Paragould. Their goal is to house the homeless and feed the hungry in the local community.
