Throughout her life, Janis found joy in various places, having lived in Memphis, Tennessee; Texas City, Texas; and Antlers, Oklahoma, before returning to her cherished home in Paragould.

Janis devoted much of her life to her work in the accounting field, where she served in payroll at Sam's, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues. She is survived by her beloved son, Clint (Alicia) Hunt, along with her cherished grandchildren: Justin Hunt, Madison Hunt, Paisley Hunt, and step-grandchild Jacob Olson. Janis also leaves behind her dear sisters, Nona (Wyatt) Smith and Marcia (Robin) Biggs, as well as her brothers Reid Porter and John (Judy) McDaniel; her aunt Jane McDaniel; and her cousins: Craig McDaniel, Grant McDaniel, Jane Marie Woodruff, Clay McDaniel, Alice Stallcup, James Stallcup, and John Stallcup.

Janis was preceded in death by her husband, John Hunt; father, Arthur McDaniel; mother, Jeanette Porter; grandfather, Arthur McDaniel; step-father, William Porter; grandmother, Carlene Jones McDaniel; grandmother, Thelma Maupin; uncle, Bobby Roe; uncle, Charles Roe; uncle, Kenneth Morrow; aunt, Violet Roe; aunt, Theresa Morrow; and her dear aunt, Pat Crosby.

Known for her warmth and hospitality, Janis delighted in cooking for her family and friends, preparing meals that brought people together. She was also an avid traveler, relishing the adventures that life brought her way. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting and made wonderful memories dancing in line with friends and family, exemplifying her spirited approach to life.

Janis' life will be honored with a funeral service officiated by Randy Rose on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Heath Funeral Home. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation at 2:00 PM. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest in Brown's Chapel Cemetery, where her memory will continue to live on.
