Janie Manley

Janet "Janie" Manley, beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on August 22, 1955, in Paragould, Janie lived a life filled with love, adventure, and dedication to her family and community.

A proud graduate of Lake City High School in 1973, Janie devoted herself to her career in the retail industry, celebrating an impressive 43 years with Walmart. For the last 27 years, she thrived as the store manager of the Parker Road location in Jonesboro, where her leadership and commitment to excellence impacted countless customers and employees.

Janie married her true love, Cliff Manley, on September 22, 1988. The two shared a profound bond that was anchored in love, respect, and joy. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter, and Janie cherished every moment spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Cliff; her sister, Ann Bates; and several nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, great-great nephews, and great-great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Adell Ritsmon; brothers, Johnny Ritsmon and Kenneth Ritsmon; and sister, Susie Hemby.

In addition to her professional achievements, Janie was known for her adventurous spirit. A certified scuba diver, she sought out any opportunity to explore the depths of the water. Her love for the outdoors was reflected in her passion for hunting-especially turkey hunting-and fishing. Whether at the lake or merely enjoying nature's beauty, Janie found joy and peace in the great outdoors.

A devout Baptist, Janie carried her faith with her throughout her life, embodying compassion and kindness in every interaction. Her love for her family and friends was immeasurable and formed the heart of her existence.

A funeral service to honor Janie's life and legacy will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Heath Funeral Home. The visitation begins at 12:00 PM with the funeral service starting at 1:00 PM. Janie will be laid to rest at Pine Log Cemetery.

Janie Manley will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her gentle spirit, adventurous heart, and unwavering love will remain in our hearts forever.
