Jim White

James Harlan "Jim" White, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed from this life peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on November 9, 1945, in Paragould, James lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love.

A proud veteran, Jim served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his country stayed with him throughout his life, as he embraced the motto, "Once a Marine, always a Marine." After returning home, Jim dedicated over 40 years of his life to Emerson Electric, where his hard work and dedication were hallmarks of his career. He retired as a respected member of the manufacturing community, leaving a legacy of professionalism and perseverance.

Jim was not just a committed worker but also an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, and golfing. His talent for bass fishing was particularly noteworthy; many believed he could have made it to the pro circuit if given the right opportunity. He found joy in these pursuits and created cherished memories with family and friends in the great outdoors.

A man of faith, Jim held his relationship with the Lord and Savior, Jesus, close to his heart. His unwavering beliefs guided him through life's challenges and shaped him into the compassionate person so many knew and loved.

Of all his activities, Jim's favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. He could often be found watching re-runs of their ball games, cheering for them as loud the second time as he did the first.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Jodie (Steven) Vines; grandsons, Caleb Gerrish, Connor Gerrish, and Bridger Vines; granddaughter, Ryleigh Vines; sisters, Linda Coop and Judy Stanley; brother, Jerry White; and father of Caleb and Connor, Scott (Amy) Gerrish. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert White and Imogene Adkinson; wife, Teresia White; and several brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Brown's Chapel Baptist Church from 1:30-2:30 PM. A graveside service to honor Jim's life will begin at 3 PM at Brown's Chapel Cemetery with Scott Gerrish officiating. We invite all who knew James to join in remembering a life well-lived and a man who touched the lives of so many.
