James "Jim" Mugford

James "Jim" Forrest Mugford passed from this life on February 25, 2024, at the age of 76. Born in Michigan on June 1, 1948, to the late Delbert and Janet Mugford, Jim was a beloved husband, father, and brother. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paragould. Jim dedicated his career to serving others as a physical therapist in the healthcare industry, earning a Master's degree from the University of Missouri. His commitment to helping others and his empathetic nature touched the lives of countless patients throughout his distinguished career.

Throughout his life, Jim found joy in simple pleasures. He had a passion for fishing and spent many peaceful days casting his line in serene waters. His love for football games was evident to all who knew him, as he cheered on his favorite teams with enthusiasm and pride.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Sally Mugford; devoted son, Scott Mugford; cherished daughter, Lisa (Gary) Dennington; beloved sister, Ginny (Jimmie) Bailey; and Sally's children, Brad McPherson and his children, Katie and Avery, Todd (Joy) McPherson and their children, Baylor and Braden, and Andy (Catherine) McPherson and their children, Alley, Kendall, and Mary Cate. Their lives were forever enriched by his presence, love, and wisdom. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul Mugford.

The family invites friends to honor Jim's memory at Heath Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, for a visitation from 2-3 pm, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dane Womack officiating.

As the sun sets on his earthly journey, Jim will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville, Kentucky, on February 28, 2024. Jim's legacy of compassion, dedication, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who mourn his loss.
