Glenn Greathouse

Glenn E. Greathouse, a proud United States Army veteran, a hardworking man with a passion for gardening, passed from this life on March 18, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on December 24, 1934, in Paragould, Glenn was a lover of all things old and antique, with a particular fondness for collecting coins, arrowheads, and Indian artifacts. Glenn was a Baptist. In fifth grade, his teacher gave him a Bible that he kept and read throughout his life.

In his earlier years, Glenn worked in manufactuing. As he got older, Glenn found joy spending his days meticulously caring for yards and gardens. He loved to manicure lawns. He married his beloved Laverne on February 18, 1961, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship.

Glenn is survived by his daughters, Dollie Hafer of Dixie and Tina (David) Jackson of Paragould; son, Chris (Tammy) Greathouse of Olatha, Kansas; brother, Winston Greathouse of Paragould; sister, Reba Whiteside of Paragould; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Raymond and Hazel Greathouse; wife, Laverne Greathouse; son, Mitchell Rushing; grandson, Kurt Christopher Allen Duke; and brother, Everett Greathouse.

A visitation will be Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Heath Funeral Home. Glenn's journey will be honored and celebrated at Heath Funeral Home on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11 AM with Rev. Jamie Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Glenn touched the lives of many with his kindness, dedication, and unwavering faith. The legacy he leaves behind continues to inspire those who knew him. As we come together to bid farewell to Glenn, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, family, and cherished memories. May his spirit rest eternally in peace.
