Freddie Leon Stanley of Paragould, Arkansas departed this life on September 20, 2024 at Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri. Freddie was born January 14, 1949, and was 75 years of age at the time of his passing.
On July 11, 1969, Freddie married the love of his life, Brenda Jane Daniels, who sadly passed on October 14, 2006. Freddie and Brenda are survived by their son, Gary Ray (Sandy) Stanley of Pocahontas, Arkansas; and grandson, Justin Parker Stanley of Paragould. In 1993, Freddie met Cheryl Yeargain of Paragould, Arkansas, and committed as a life partner on August 20, 2017. Freddie loved Cheryl and enjoyed working on their acreage in Finch and traveling together making many lasting memories.
He is proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda; his parents, Parker and Voncille (Hawkins) Stanley; brother-in-law, Willis Johnson; and nephew, Vaughn Gerald Johnson. He is survived by his sisters, Diane (James) Woodson of Imboden; Sherry Johnson of Farmington; and Peggy (Randy) Smith of Black Rock. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and many friends.
Freddie graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1967 and acquired a degree in Psychology from ASU in May of 1976. He was a truck driver for Emerson Electric (where he was known to his coworkers as “Big Orr”) until he was permanently disabled in 1989. Freddie enjoyed being outdoors, being on any river, and traveling. In his younger years, he enjoyed scuba diving, cave exploration, skiing, and boating, but most of all, his time spent with family.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Warren’s Chapel Methodist Church on Highway 168 at 1 PM, Saturday, September 28, 2024. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, American Cancer Society, or any charity of your choice.
