Frank Merle Cothren, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on July 25, 1936, in Walcott, Arkansas, Frank lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a steadfast commitment to his community.

Frank was a man of many talents and passions. His keen problem-solving skills and love for electrical work guided him through a distinguished 46-year career as a manager at City Light and Water. Known for his instinctive understanding of outages during storms, he would leap into action, often addressing issues in the early hours of the morning, embodying the spirit of service and dedication.

In addition to his professional life, Frank found joy in gardening, particularly in cultivating corn, okra, and green beans. His produce was well-loved and often sought after by family and friends, a testament to his nurturing nature. Frank delighted in spending time with his sons, Randy and Gary, and took great pleasure in bringing the family together, where laughter and love flourished within their home.

Married for an extraordinary 68 years to his beloved wife, Eunice, Frank's life was rooted in love and commitment. He was a gentle, steady force whose peaceful presence made everyone feel welcome. The strength of his character and the quiet consistency with which he provided for his family left an indelible mark on those who knew him.

Faith was central to Frank's life. He was a devoted member of the First Church of God, where he served in various capacities, including treasurer, Chairman of the Board, and director of the children's ministry. His unwavering faith provided guidance and inspiration to many, reflecting his commitment to a life of service beyond the home.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Eunice Cothren; his sons, Randy (Sandi) and Gary (Christy) Cothren; and his cherished grandchildren: Benny (Courtney) Cothren, Chelsea (Adam) Cothren-Martinez, Kristen (T.J.) Hedge, Brandy Walker, Charity Hudson, and Shea (Terry) Thompson. He took great pride in his role as a great-grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love to Belle Cothren, Harper Martinez, Brenlynn Cothren, Abbey Martinez, Layne Hedge, Josh Adams, Addie Hedge, Kylee Lyles, Caleb Thompson, Madyson Goodman, Conner Goodman, and Aiden Gray.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, George Cothren; mother, Irene Cothren; and brothers, Joe Cothren and Earl Cothren.
