It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances Mae McClelland, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend. Frances was born on October 7, 1944, in Paragould, and devoted her life to nurturing those around her, thriving in her role as a devoted family member and a dedicated member of her community.

Frances was united in marriage to her beloved husband, LaVerne McClelland, on September 27, 1963. Together, they built a loving family who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Frances found immense joy in being a grandmother as well as a great-grandmother-- her family was her greatest pride and joy.

A proud graduate of Greene County Tech Class of '62, Frances dedicated over 37 years to clerical work at Brookland School District, where she made a lasting impact on students and staff alike. Throughout her life, she found passion in sewing and music, often bringing joy to others by playing the piano and organ. As a long-time 4-H leader, she nurtured the next generation with care and dedication.

Frances was a member of the Brown's Chapel Baptist Church and also an attendee of Woods Chapel Baptist Church, where her faith and love for her community blossomed. She was a 4-H leader for the Goobertown 4-H Club, where she cherished her 4-H'ers and their community building efforts.

Frances was deeply committed to her family and is survived by her beloved husband, Carter LaVerne McClelland; her daughters, Michelle (Keith) Morrow and Amanda (Michel) Beaird. She was a proud grandmother to Zachary Layton Crosskno, Stuart Ashton (Sydney) Crosskno, Briar Brookings (Hayley) Morrow, Alexandra Payton Crosskno, Callie (Zac) Beaird-Campbell, Michel (Jessica) Beaird, and Kyle Beaird, as well as a cherished great-grandmother to Scarlett Crosskno, Natalie (Ren) Beaird-Wilson, and Imriel Beaird-Wilson. Frances is also survived by her sister, Stella Thomason.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Berneva Loyd; brother, William Loyd, Jr.; sister, Mary Cobb and her husband, Ronnie Cobb; brother-in-law, Dick Thomason; and granddaughter, Avery Lane Crosskno.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday, June 5, 2026, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Frances's life and share cherished memories. The funeral service will commence at 10:00 AM with Bro. Royce Boling and Bro. Rick Hathcoat officiating. She will be laid to rest at Brown's Chapel Cemetery following the service. The family warmly invites all who knew and loved her to join in celebrating her life and the indelible mark she left on so many.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital in memory of her beloved granddaughter, Avery. Your support during this time is deeply appreciated.

Frances Mae McClelland will be remembered not just for her many contributions to her family and community, but also for the profound love she shared with everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
