Florence Bolding Douglas, 104, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Saturday, September 23, 2023. She was born in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, on December 12, 1918, to the late Charles Edward Bolding and Mertie Belle Wood Bolding. Florence married James Thomas Douglas in 1939, and she remained by his side until his passing in 1993. Having a love for the outdoors, Florence spent many hours in her yard gardening and tending to flowers. She worked in food services at Arkansas State University for several years, and she was a charter member at Needham Baptist Church. Florence was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bolding; mother and step-father, Frank and Mertie Brown; husband, James Douglas; grandsons, Joe "Bubby" Roberson and James Morgan; granddaughter, Brenda Gray; sister, Evalee Ferguson; and brothers, Lloyd, Marion, and Eugene Bolding and Herman and Henderson Brown.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Doris Roberson of Jonesboro; grandson, David Roberson of Clinton, Missouri; granddaughters, Trella Storey of Clinton and Pamela (Ronnie) Manz of West Reading, Pennsylvania; granddaughter-in-law, Teresa Morgan of Jonesboro; great grandchildren, Alex Roberson, Brodie (Dillon) Wing, Taylor Storey, James Thomas Morgan, Jeremy (Kerri) Morgan, Charlie Gray, Dustin (Samantha) Manz, Josey Roberson, and Tyler (Jennifer) Manz; and great-great grandchildren, Adilyn Manz, Elayna Young, Avery Manz, Conway Morgan, Brayden Manz, Brody Allen Manz, and Nash Wing.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 25, 2023, from 12-1 PM at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral begins at 1 PM with Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating. Burial is in Pine Log Cemetery. Pallbearers are her great grandsons.
