Evelyn Grace Dowdy

We gather to honor the brief but cherished life of Evelyn Grace Dowdy, who was born into the loving arms of Jesus on August 24, 2026.

Evelyn will be remembered for the joy she brought into her family's hearts during her short tenure. Early in her mother's pregnancy, Evelyn shared a womb with a twin, who sadly did not survive past eight weeks. From that moment forward, Evelyn's presence was felt deeply, as her mother experienced cravings for sweets-most notably chocolate doughnuts and chocolate milk, undoubtedly a sign of Evelyn's sweet tooth. When she wasn't in the mood for sweets, Evelyn enjoyed hot Cheetos and sour candy, a testament to the vibrant personality she was already developing. Known for her energetic spirit, Evelyn moved vigorously, sometimes kicking so hard she would wake her mother with her playful movements.

Evelyn will be honored during a funeral service held at Heath Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29, 2026. A visitation will take place from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM with Pastor Bradley Robinson officiating. She will be laid to rest in Pine Log Cemetery.

Evelyn Grace Dowdy is survived by her devoted father, Jonathan Dowdy; her loving mother, Azlynn Cline; her sister, Brynlee Rae Dawn Dowdy; grandparents, Jeff (April) Cline .Jonathan (Latisha) Dowdy and great grandma D; aunts and uncles, Shay (Crystal) Cline, Dustin Cline, Nora Cline, Makanza Sanders, Mercedes Sanders, Jonavan Dowdy, Cressey Dowdy, JR Dowdy, Jasie Dowdy, Etta Hicks, Kaliegh Hicks, Gabriel Dowdy, Bradley Dowdy, Austin Dowdy, Sebastian Dowdy, and Abby Dowdy; and a host of family members and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. We invite all to come together as we celebrate the love that will endure as she rests eternally with Jesus.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ashley Dawn Cline; her great grandfathers, Rick Cook, Gary Cline, and great grandpa D; her nana and papa, Patricia and Danny Lawrence, and her uncle, Zachery Cline.

It is our comfort to know that she is now cradled in the arms of Jesus, the sweetest embrace of all.
